Guess the Book!

My friend Maureen, who blogs at Suburban Sharecroppers, lent it to me. I haven't a copy, believe it or not! Any guesses on the title?

Amazon Packages

I've gotten several new packages with Amazon's happy face on it. It's curriculum-buying time and a free trial of Amazon Prime is helping get it all here FREE. I wish everything I needed was available from them!

The Stove

This is my stove. I love my stove. Right now, though, I don't love my oven. It is being temperamental. It thinks it needs new circuit board and ignition thingamajig. Praise the Lord for extended warranties! I'll love my oven again in about two weeks when it's working.

Too Many!

I'm rebooting my kombucha right now and realized that my 'extras' jar is stuffed full! Time to blend these babies up and make some kombucha slurry. It can be used in many different ways, including adding it to smoothies and to the garden, as fertilizer.

Where've Ya Been?

I missed a day of blogging here. I'm so ashamed! .......... Ok, not really. :)

I've spent a couple of days in the Younger Girls Room. I helped them sort through all their toys, discard what doesn't get played with and throw out all the papers and bits of broken things that accumulate. We went through games, reassembled ones that were missing pieces and tossed what couldn't be saved. Books were sorted, weeded through, organized, inventoried and reshelved. They actually have a free shelf due to all the purging we did!

It looks so much better in there. Now they can actually play IN their room. Imagine that!

Birthday Time!

The twins celebrated their birthday the other day. Yay for nine years and for many, many more to come!

Little Angel of the Day: Wilson

http://reecesrainbow.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/1bfutnov2010-1.bmp

Reece's Rainbow has my heart and I visit often. Sadly, children with Down's Syndrome are treated as throwaways in so much of the world! I was so excited to hear that my friend Ginger's sister is in process to adopt a little doll named Wilson! You can follow their adoption journey at Following His Lead. Would you join with me in praying for the Wooddell's in their journey? For clear guidance from the Lord, for ease of paperwork, for the overwhelming financial requirements to be miraculously provided for in good time?

Let's also pray for Wilson. Pray for his health, safety and continued growth while in the orphanage. Pray for an easy transition when he goes home. Most importantly, pray that he comes to know the Lord in a real and personal way.

If you are able, would you consider helping the Wooddell's in their adoption? I am not able to adopt personally, but I can lend a helping hand to one who is able! They have a Paypal donation button on their blog, and you can also donate through Wilson's page on RR.

Knitting

http://i1.squidoocdn.com/resize/squidoo_images/-1/lens1333076_1232481667how_to_knit.jpg

I've been trying to learn to knit this year. My daughter, EmBlem, is the knitter in the family, and has been patiently teaching her "two-left-thumbed" Momma. I have mastered become bored with practice swatches, so I am beginning this project:

Silver's Sock Class

Sweetheart's Banquet

We enjoyed a banquet at our church tonight. My Girlies helped decorate the tables. Aren't they nice?

My Honey and I enjoyed our night out with friends. The message was wonderful and the fellowship, priceless!

The Promise

We had some lovely, drenching showers yesterday, with more expected tomorrow. Just after one particular hard downfall, the skies suddenly cleared somewhat and this gorgeous, full rainbow appeared.

Tomato Starts

This is my little eggshell tray of germinating tomato seeds. At least I hope they are germinating. I guess I'll know sooner than later...and there's always Lowe's if needed.

Troubles loves getting dizzy. This is one of his favorite outdoor activities! It can count as my exercise for the day, too, right?

An Antique

I bought this waffle maker for a dollar at a yard sale. I had hoped it would work better than the junky ones I have tried in the past few years. It certainly looks cool with its steel plates and wooden handle! Sad to say, though it heated up, it did not get hot enough to actually cook the waffle batter. The Lambies had waffle-batter-pancakes for breakfast.

My Farmer!

I remembered my camera this Saturday! Today's picture is of My Farmer. Kyle blesses us each and every Saturday with the opportunity to buy loads and loads of wonderful organic fruits and veggies. The fruits of his labor grace our table in one meal or another almost every day. Have you thanked (and hugged) your Farmer today? Do you even know where your food comes from?

Helpers

Missy and Troubles helped flake oats yesterday. Today I made Vanilla Granola with the oats they prepared. Tomorrow, they will eat of the fruit of their labor!
