Spring Updates

Spring is here in Central California!  The temperatures are warming and the winter hoodies have been packed away.  Flip flops and Vibrams are back in action!!

We are nearing our last few weeks of formal school.  Just six weeks to go!

We're harvesting lots of lettuce and Swiss chard from the garden. Lemons and oranges are in abundance. Lemonade is often being enjoyed and Creamsicle Jelly is back in the cupboards.  Carrots, green beans and radishes are planted, with tomatoes to follow soon.

I found an amazing deal on Craig's List!!  I was able to purchase a Squeezo Strainer and an All American 915 for a very nice price.  I will be able to put up tomato sauce this year!  Woohoo!

Lillie's FSP is climbing little by little.  Her parents are working as fast as they can to get through the paperwork and get her home.  Her mommy has a really neat store set up. She handcrafts amazing Montessori toys.  Every penny of each purchase is tax-deductible and is used exclusively for Lillie's adoption costs.  Think of Easter baskets filled with useful toys rather than candy, or birthday gifts that will endure the years! My Little Sunshine Montessori Boutique is the place to go.

So, how is life for you on this first day of Spring? What projects are you undertaking? What are your goals for this season?

SCORE!

I stopped in at a church rummage sale this morning and scored this two and a half foot terrarium, complete with screened top, UV light, heating pad and large feeding/watering bowl. It was only $5! The children are split on what critter we should get for it. Suggestions are a snake, a scorpion and a turtle. We will see.......

Bike Mechanic Daddy

Daddy put on his bike mechanic hat today and gave all the bicycles tune-ups. We also found a nice, older Trek at a garage sale for only $20, so we snagged it. My Honey got five bikes finished, one almost finished (we can't get a rear derailleur until Monday) and plans to do the new Trek tomorrow. It will need more attention than today's set. We need to watch garage sales for a couple more 20/24" bikes for growing Lambies. We have several bikes have been outgrown and will be sold when we have a garage sale of our own.

Books For Wilson

These are some of the Books For Wilson books.

Here are more. I have donations coming in all the time and work daily to add books onto the $5/$3 lists, the Amazon store and onto LibraryThing accounts: Wilson and Mommaofmany. I'm having so much fun doing this fundraiser! It'll be even funner to see pictures of Wilson in his Mommy and Daddy's arms!

Yard Sale Treasures

I went yard sale-ing this morning and found many treasures! This tub of REAL Legos? $5!

Almost all of these books are going to be listed for Wilson. Just three four will be staying with us. (I was told that we do not have one of the books I thought we did)

FIVE pairs of good Rollerblades (one even Rollerblade brand!) to fit growing, active feet.

I also bought five pairs of kids jeans, a shirt, a pair of Teva shoes (for me!!), Vans and a pair of slip-on 'barn shoes'. All of this set me back a mere $19. I actually came home with change in my pocket still! Thanks, Lord, for the blessings.

An Antique

I bought this waffle maker for a dollar at a yard sale. I had hoped it would work better than the junky ones I have tried in the past few years. It certainly looks cool with its steel plates and wooden handle! Sad to say, though it heated up, it did not get hot enough to actually cook the waffle batter. The Lambies had waffle-batter-pancakes for breakfast.
